So just how rich is Shiri Appleby now? According to sources, Appleby has established a net worth of over $1 million, as of early 2017. The main source of her wealth has been her acting career.

Appleby was raised along with her younger brother by Hebrew School teacher Dina, and telecommunications executive Jerry Appleby. She attended Calabasas High School, California, matriculating in 1997. She later enrolled at the University of Southern California to study English literature.

Her acting career had actually begun when she was four years old, participating in various commercials. She made her television debut in 1985 in the soap opera “Santa Barbara”, and two years later her film debut in the thriller “The Killing Time”. By the end of the decade she had landed several television appearances, such as in the series “thirtysomething”, “The Bronx Zoo” and “Freddy’s Nightmares”, and had the leading role as Amy Escobar in the short-lived NBC sitcom “Knight & Daye”. Her net worth was already established.

Opportunities continued to come her way in the ’90s, which saw the young actress appearing in films like “I Love You to Death” and “Family Prayers”. She played the lead role as Rachel in the short-lived CBS sitcom “Sunday Dinner”, and landed numerous television series guest appearances too, such as in the series “Raven”, “ER”, “Baywatch”, “Xena: Warrior Princess” and “Movie Stars”, becoming more and more known and recognizable. Her net worth began to grow.

In 1999 she was cast with the lead role of Liz Parker in the WB/UPN science fiction television series “Roswell”. Based on the young adult book series “Rosewell High” by Melinda Metz, it became a massive hit with worldwide audiences. Appleby’s performance as a high school student who befriends aliens earned her critical acclaim, and she remained in the show until its cancellation in 2002. Aside from promoting her in the acting world, the series significantly added to Appleby’s wealth.

As for the 2000s, the actress tackled a mix of television and film work. She had starring roles in the films “A Time for Dancing”, “Swimfan”, “The Battle of Shaker Heights”, “Havoc” and “The Killing Floor”, and on the small screen the recurring role as Anya in the dramatic television series “Six Degrees”, and as Dr. Daria Wade in the series “ER”, as well as a number of TV films. All added to her net worth.

In 2010 Appleby was cast in the leading role as Cate Cassidy in the drama series “Life Unexpected”, which ran for a year. She then landed recurring roles in the series “Franklin & Bash”, “Chicago Fire” and “Girls”. As of 2015, she has played Rachel Goldberg in the drama series “UnREAL”. Appleby’s most recent film involvement was in the role of Ruthie in the 2017 comedy “Lemon”.

Aside from her career in film and television, Appleby has appeared in many music videos too, such as in Bon Jovi’s video for the song “It’s My Life” and Gavin DeGraw’s video for the song “I Don’t Want to Be”, adding steadily to her net worth.

When it comes to her private life, Appleby has been married to chef and restaurateur Jon Shook since 2013; the couple has two children.

#Quote
1The people were just so lovely and accommodating and had really interesting questions and it was just interesting to see how the show is actually received in so many different countries.
2They ask questions like 'do you believe in aliens' and those types of things. They were really interested in aliens, and that was really something that the Japanese have an interest in, and they are also very big fans of romances.
3She wasn't as naive and innocent as she was in the first season.
4There are a lot of different sides to me. I don't know if I'm always peaches-and-cream.
5There was a scene early on during the first season of Roswell and I broke down crying. Since then, I've always just been able to do it.
6I find that people are constantly coming up to me now. There's been a definite surge of people recognizing me and I'm not sure if it has to do with the DVDs or not, but I've sort of assumed that it does because the show has been off the air for three years now.
7I think from here on it's up to me to prove that I'm growing up and that I have other things to say, but in terms of the show it definitely gave me all of the opportunities I've had so far.
8I think the show has sort of given me a name in this business and allowed a lot of people the opportunity to see what I can do, and it's just sort of like a sweet starting point.
9I had a really normal childhood except I acted. It was like, my brother played soccer, and I was on television sometimes.
10I never went to any of the Hollywood child parties.
11I took my waitress uniform. Seemed fitting.
12I've been watching so many movies and they all have to do with the DVDs. It's just so much more convenient.
